Why do you want to be Mr. Gay South Africa™ 2011? I want to be Mr Gay South Africa because I believe I can make a difference. As Mr Gay South Africa I would like to change the stereotypical notion that all gays do is party and sleep around. I want to make the gay community more visible in ventures that will benefit the image of the gay society as a whole. Let us endeavour to include everyone in our community. As a gay male living in Durban, I have noticed that there are many sectors of the gay community that do not mix. I think that before we can make a noise about the world accepting us we need to build bridges and learn to accept each other.

In my community, especially in Durban there is hardly any integration of different homosexual race groups or cultures. As Mr GSA I would like to pioneer the way forward to make this happen.

Which public gay figure, South African or otherwise, do you see as a role model and why? Tim Barnet. His work with people living with aids is an inspiration to me.
